It is a dimensionally stable, relatively soft and flexible packing. Treated with PTFE dispersion and an inert ingredient, it's an excellent choice for high speed rotary shaft service in marine, waste/water treatment, and most volatile applications. Pre-shrunk to avoid packing wear and shaft scoring, It's often found in sump pumps, chlorinators, alkaline softeners, slip-type expansion joints, strong acid situations, coke plant hot oil pumps, reciprocating rods, rams and plungers. Braided with CPS 2311Y, PTFE filament is impregnated piece by piece with PTFE dispersion. Flexibility, almost complete chemical inertia, dimensional stability, low friction coefficient to compression, and excellent resistance to compression are qualities classifying this packing among the best ones available in the industrial field. It is suitable for all the chemical compounds (excepting cast alkaline metals and the gaseous fluorine), alternative and rotary motions shafts operating at high peripheral speed, rod, pistons, valve stems, expansion joints, etc.
